The Bachelor of Computing is designed to produce graduates who satisfy the computing needs of industry, government and commerce, and who can expect employment in the fields of applications programming, systems programming, systems analysis, project management, database design and management, data communications, and a range of specialised positions. Students develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes in the broad areas of software development, computer technology and information systems.

The degree can be completed in the equivalent of three years of full- time study over six semesters, with an average of 16 hours per week class contact. Classes are available during the day.
This course is accredited by the Australian Computer Society as meeting the Level 1 standard of knowledge for membership.
Although initially only the third year of the course will be offered to cater for students who have undertaken tertiary-level studies in computing at other institutions, it is expected that the full course will be introduced over a number of years.
