Master of Psychological Medicine


General information

This course is currently undergoing a major amendment and is proposed to be offered from semester one, 2003.

This course is jointly offered by Monash University's Department of Psychological Medicine and the University of Melbourne's Department of Psychiatry (Master of Psychiatry). The degree is taken by coursework over three years, part-time.

Applicants must be registered medical practitioners currently engaged in psychiatric practice, clinical training in psychiatry or with an interest in psychiatry. The principal aim of this degree is to provide the medical practitioner with training in the academic aspects of psychiatry.

Assessment

Continuous assessment will be based on submission of assignments and critical essays related to the core and elective units being undertaken for the degree. This may be supplemented by written and oral examinations.
