The Graduate Certificate in Regional Community Development is designed for regionally-based workers from diverse sectors who in recent years have had a responsibility to engage with community groups: local government, health, agriculture, tourism, economic development, adult education, housing, enterprise development, Indigenous programs, neighbourhood houses, recreation, arts and culture, church and community organisations, women's groups and environmental programs.
The minimum requirement for entry is one of the following:
Applicants who are not native speakers of English will be
required to demonstrate substantial competence in written and spoken English
before admission. These requirements are:
(i) education in full English medium in an English-speaking country, or
(ii) IELTS - 7.0 global (no score below 6); TOEFL - 600 with TWE of 5;
computer-based TOEFL - 250.
The course will comprise 24 credit points of part-time study over two semesters. There will be two 6-point units and one 12-point unit as follows:
The Graduate Certificate in Regional Community Development is equivalent to 24 credit points of study and is normally completed over one year of part-time study. The expected number of hours per week for a part- time student is 24.
