This four-unit course is designed to meet the needs of practitioners in industrial and employee relations and of human resources managers who wish to undertake formal study and gain a qualification in this field. In addition, the course aims to provide an avenue for managers and professional people who seek to make the transition to employment in the field of industrial and employee relations.
Applicants require a pass degree or an equivalent qualification from a
recognised tertiary institution. Applicants without a first degree who have a
minimum of six years appropriate employment experience should refer to the
section on executive certificates. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of
two credit exemptions for units considered to be equivalent to particular units
in the course of study. Credit is restricted to study completed in the last
five years. The course director assesses credit exemptions.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of
Management as to the 2003 course fee. Students who successfully complete the
Graduate Certificate in Industrial and Employee Relations may apply for
admission to the Graduate Diploma in Industrial and Employee Relations or the
Master of Industrial and Employee Relations.
