Graduate Certificate in Medical Acupuncture


General Information

Course code: 2678 + Department of General Practice, East Bentleigh + Full-fee-paying course: $5200 (Australian residents); $6350 (international students)

Aims

This course offered by the Department of General Practice will bring medical practitioners who study medical acupuncture to a stage where they can practise acupuncture competently and safely within the community.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be registered medical practitioners engaged in full or part-time general practice.

Attendance

Two compulsory weekend workshops (15 hours each).

Course structure

The course is conducted over approximately one year, consisting of two part-time semesters. Students are required to complete the following units:

Assessment

Assessment consists of coursework participation, assignments, formal examination and 30 hours of clinical supervision, including attendance at two compulsory weekend workshops (15 hours each).

Advanced standing for previous study

Candidates who have other equivalent qualifications may apply for exemption for certain units in the graduate certificate course. Each case will be considered on its merits.
