VCP4031Pharmaceutics III(PHA)
Dr Margaret Doherty 28 hours of lectures, 25 hours of workshops/flexible learning exercises Synopsis: Biopharmaceutics - peroral, buccal, rectal, percutaneous, ocular, nasal, vaginal, parenteral and protein delivery. Therapeutic drug monitoring - prediction of dosage. Use of population paratmeters. Bayesian and probability methods. Applied pharmaceutics - the application of pharmaceutics including the knowledge of the physico-chemical properties of the drug, formulation strategies, biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics to understanding the dosage form and the implications for its use in practice. Assessment: End-of-semester examination (June) (2 hours): 70% + Workshop assignments: 30% |
