Medicinal chemistry III

39 hours of lectures and 50 hours of practical work

Synopsis: Drug design. Drugs affecting the central nervous system. Steroids and prostaglandins. Pharmacodynamic agents. Enzyme inhibitors as drugs. Detoxifying agents. Peptides and proteins. QSAR. Practical classes in the synthesis, identification and characterisation of compounds of medicinal interest.

Assessment: Practical work: 10% + Mid-year examination (June) (1.5 hours): 45% + End-of-year examination (1.5 hours): 45%
