Language of interactivity

(A&D)

3 points + 6 hours per week, including 2 hours lectures, seminar and tutorials and 4 hours independent study for on-campus students + Second semester + Caulfield + Prerequisites: TAD1101 and TAD1102

Synopsis: This subject develops an understanding of changes in communication brought about by interactivity beginning with a look at pre-digital models for interaction with media and their links with contemporary forms. It examines the recent history of computer and video games, virtual identify, artificial life, computer simulation and generative processes, drawing upon examples from computer science, electronic art, software design and the multimedia industry.

Assessment: Essay (1500 words): (50%) + Class paper (1500 words): (50%)
