SCY2400Social psychology(ART)
Naomi White 6 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Caulfield + Prerequisite: First-year sequence in Sociology or permission + Prohibition: SCY3400 Synopsis: This subject examines the social construction of social relationships and of emotions as constituent elements of face-to-face interactions. Students will examine conceptual and theoretical frameworks relevant to the social psychology of interpersonal relationships, the social construction of emotion and the interplay of self-definitions, emotions and situational factors in face-to-face relationships. How we attribute meaning to events, situations and our own and others' actions will also be considered. Assessment: Project (2500 words): 50% + Test (2 hours): 50% |
