Synopsis: Basic principles of obstetric, peripheral and extracranial vascular ultrasound. Obstetric scanning methods, techniques and parameters utilised in assessing both single and multiple pregnancies for viability, dating, growth and normality will be addressed as will Pulse Doppler and safety imaging principles. At the conclusion of the unit a student will have the knowledge and skills to clinically participate in a basic ultrasound examination of deep venous thrombosis of the lower limb.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 60% + Written assignments (4): 40%
