PSY2112Organisational psychology(SCI)
Mr Peter Macris and Ms Sue Burney 6 points + Two 1-hour lectures and one 2-hour practical workshop per week + OCDL students must complete a minimum of 12 hours on-campus weekend school laboratory work + Second semester: Caulfield and OCDL + Prerequisites: Completion of 48 points of any degree Synopsis: The central theme of this unit is applied psychology focused at the individual, group and organisational levels. At the individual level the use of vocational assessment inventories to determine career choice and selection will be examined. Theories of leadership, power, motivation, job satisfaction, morale and the processes involved in training personnel will be examined at the group level. At the organisational level topics include systems theory, organisational culture, conflict and change. Assessment: Administration and interpretation of a vocational assessment inventory: 30% + Exam (2 hours): 40% + Preparation and administration of a skills training session: 40% |
