Associate Professor Trevor Finlayson 6 points + 5 hours lecture/tutorial classes and an average of 5 hours laboratory work per fortnight + Second Semester + Clayton + Prerequisite: MSC2011 or PHS2611 or PHS2011 and PHS2022 + Prohibition: MSC3042 Synopsis: Materials characterisation - detailed study of the scientific basis for a selection of microstructural characterisation techniques; technical communications - a contemporary materials topic culminating in the presentation of a research seminar and a written essay. Assessment: Examination (1.5 hours): 27.5% + Assignments: 12% + Research essay and seminar participation: 27.5% + Laboratory work: 33% |
