PHS3611Electrical, optical and magnetic properties of materials(SCI)
Associate Professor Trevor Finlayson 6 points + 5 hours of lecture/tutorial classes and an average of 5 hours laboratory work per fortnight + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisite: MSC2022 or PHS2622 or PHS2011 and PHS2022 + Prohibition: MSC3011 Synopsis: Electrical and optical properties of materials - dielectrics, ferroelectrics, superconductivity and optical fibres; magnetic properties - study of the microscopic origins of magnetism in specific classes of materials, domains, magnet fabrication and applications.
