Photomedia studio 1

6 points + 4 class hours per week and 8 independent study hours + First semester + Caulfield and Gippsland + Prerequisites: 6 points of level 1 Photomedia units plus for BVA students only VIS1101 and VIS1102 + Corequisites: For BVA (photomedia major) only: 6 points in another level 2 photomedia unit

Synopsis: This subject builds on the skills and knowledge acquired in level 1 photomedia subjects. Within the context of a visual art practice students develop a firm conceptual foundation for their art practice and produce photomedia related imagery. This unit provides ample opportunities for students to produce and apply photographic imagery while continuing to develop confidence and skills from previous units. Through participating in a program of lectures, tutorials and workshops students will develop their conceptual facility whilst simultaneously extending their photographic skills, including advanced 35mm camera technique and black and white processing and archival printing.

Assessment: Initial folio:20% + Final folio:80%
