PHM4020Philosophy Masters Qualifying B(ART)
Dirk Baltzly 12 points + Semesters One or Two + Clayton + Students choose two units. Each unit consists of six 2-hour seminars. Synopsis: Students take two units form the following list: (i) Metaphysics and Epistemology; (ii) Value Theory; (iii) Foundations of Analytic Philosophy; (iv) Contemporary European Philosophy; (v) Supervised reading; (vi) Philosophy of Mind and Cognition; (vii) Philosophical Pedagogy. Each unit consists of six two-hour seminars. At least four units will be offered. Students will be provided with details of which units are on offer as well as specific reading lists shortly after they receive their letter of offer to undertake Masters Qualifying. Assessment: Each unit will be assessed by one 4500 word essay + The exception is the Philosophical Pedagogy unit. There the assessment consists of (a) two written exercises (3000 words): 67% and (b) a practical performance: 33% |
