PHL1010Introduction to philosophy A(ART)
Karen Green 6 points + 3 hours per week + First semester + Clayton Synopsis: Students take any two of the following components: (i) 'Thinking,' which looks at arguments, their types, their use in rational persuasion, and their evaluation; (ii) 'Life, Death and Morality,' which examines how reasoning can clarify and help to resolve practical moral issues, expecially those arising from changes in social context, knowledge and technology; (iii)'God, Freedom and Evil', which begins by examining some arguments in favour of the existence of God and then move to consider a difficulty posed by the existence of evil for anyone who believes in God...
