Developing educational programs in nursing

6 points + First semester + Gippsland (OCDL) + Peninsula (Flexible mode or OCDL)

Synopsis: The nurse as a teacher requires the knowledge and skills to develop appropriate, cost effective and relevant educational programs related to their work area. This unit focuses on enabling the student to identify, plan, develop and evaluate a program relevant to the needs of their particular workplace. The workplace may be the hospital ward, community centre, aged care facility or mental health unit, or any facility where a nurse may be working.

Assessment: Written assignment: 75% + Seminar presentation: 25%
