Synopsis: In a multicultural society like Australia, there is clear evidence to suggest that a unit addressing multicultural issues in nursing is not only needed but essential in undertaking a holistic approach in keeping with the overall philosophy of the Bachelor of Nursing course. A focus on multicultural nursing will give students an opportunity to explore their own cultural biases, enhance their cultural sensitivity, critically analyze and reflect upon their own clinical practices when dealing with people from a different cultural background and also Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people.
