Synopsis: Development as a psychiatrist. The concept of mental illness. Interviewing techniques. Perspectives on psychiatry including the contribution of psychodynamic, behavioural/cognitive, social sciences, biological sciences and systems theory. Perspectives on a large number of different psychiatric disorders.

Assessment: One minor essay (2000 words) based on clinical material
