MGX5311Managing in an e-world(BUS) Not offered in 2001 Professor Amrik Sohal 6 points + 3-hour class per week + Second semester + Caulfield Synopsis: The impact of e-business and its associated technologies on the business world, its people and their interactions from a holistic perspective. Problems experienced by managers in an electronically enabled environment. Classic management functions are reviewed in the emerging information economy. The role of change management, HRM, strategic planning, industrial relations, organisational development, knowledge management and organisational learning in business. Application of knowledge of management theory and information technology in workshops with real-world e-business leaders and discussion and analysis of changes across a range of industries with the advent of e-business. Assessment: Presentation: 20% + Essay (3000 words): 30% + Group assignment - report (4000 words): 30% and presentation: 20% |
