MGF3221Managing electronic business(BUS)
Dr Nick Beaumont 6 points + 2-hour lecture and 1-hour tutorial per week + Second semester + Caulfield + Prerequisite: Completion of 12 units of study Synopsis: Managing electronic business (EB) requires students to understand the technical bases of EB and the effects it has on and the issues it poses for individuals, organisations, society and government. We study the effect the EB may have on organisations' internal processes, structures and strategies; organisations' interactions with other parties; authorities' ability to regulate and individuals' rights. Students must be able to anticipate the changes that EB enables and forces so that on assuming responsibility they can exploit EB and manage its adoption with minimal cost. The course incorporates cases, presentations and practical work. Assessment: Individual assignment (2000 words): 20% + Group assignment presentation: 10% + Group assignment report (2000 words): 20% + Final examination (2 hours): 50% |
