Dr I Rasaratnam, Dr W Sievert and Dr H Newnham 10 points + Half of an 18-week rotation + Continuous attachment in a hospital environment (integrated with an equivalent attachment in Surgery). Synopsis: Involvement in all medical unit activities, regular clerking of patients and bedside tutorials covering history and examination skills. Group tutorials provided by consultant physicians and specialty registrars and additional tutorials by specific clinical teachers for small groups of students. Lecture series covering all major medical specialty areas plus combined medical-surgical seminars that provide multi-disciplinary approaches to management of major medical illnesses. Presentation of detailed case reports with relevant literature review. Interaction with paramedical staff in the hospital environment. Assessment: Continuous assessment by clinical tutors and a written case report with literature review: 30% + Bedside clinical examination: 30% + MCQ examination: 40% |
