MED4001Integrative clinical science and clinical practice(MED)
Dr Jane Fox 24 points + three 1-hour lectures (integrating content for all fourth year units), one general clinical skills tutorial and one specialty clinical skills tutorials per week, 1-week introductory program (nursing shifts and a pathology training session), two 4-week rotations (one in Emergency Medicine and Medical Imaging and one 'selective' attachment) Synopsis: Students will develop clinical skills and personal and professional attributes together with an integrated knowledge of the science and practice of medicine. The program is system based and focuses on general and sub-specialty practice in medicine and surgery. Pharmacology teaching is integrated across the program. A term in emergency medicine and the 'selective' program allows further integration of knowledge and development of specific clinical skills. Assessment: Continuous assessment (case-based modules, clinical skills, oral and written reports, MCQ/SAQ examination): satisfactory completion required + Integrated end of year OSCE: 100% |
