Synopsis: Develops skills in reading and interpreting a variety of texts in Japanese, including longer works than are included in either langugae subjects at this level. Skils in summarising and translating will be introduced and discussion sessions will focus on both textual and linguistic features and content.

Assessment: Mid-semester examination (50 minutes): 15% + End of semester examination (2 hours) : 35% + Class performance, including regular quizzes: 20% + Written assignment (equivalent to 1500 words) +
