Synopsis: The role and conduct of research in applied linguistics and sociolinguistics. The subject is designed for students intending to write minor theses or research papers, but will also be of benefit to students undertaking other data-based projects or writing academic essays.

Assessment: Two essays (4500 words each): 50% each
