Synopsis: The unit integrates two components: (i)Language: advanced language acquisition is stimulated through the integrated practice of the four language skills. An hour a week is spent analysing forms of cross-cultural communication. (ii) Aspects of Italian Culture: the socio-cultural insights gained in SPN1070/1080 are developed through in-depth analysis of Italian history and culture from the Risorgimento to World War II.

Assessment: Test: (2 hours): 30% + Oral participation: 10% + Continuous assessment: 40% + Italian Culture essay: 10% + Italian culture test: 10%
