Synopsis: Conversational materials are introduced week by week, with discussion of grammar and of the social and cultural factors that affect language-use in Java. Students begin to hold simple conversations and to write simple exercises in Javanese.

Assessment: Examination (1 hour): 40% + Oral test: 20% + Class exercises: 20% + Periodic tests: 20%
