Synopsis: This subject aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the web-based information systems development process. Topics include the motivation for information management, data management technologies, relational and legacy database systems, designing relational databases, use of the SQL language, data warehousing, dimensional modelling, data sourcing and data quality in data warehouses, document management, and the data management function within organisations. This subject is designed to provide students with an understanding of IT management concepts, the role of the IT management function within organisations.

Assessment: Assignments: 50% + Formal Supervised Assessment: 50% (subject to approval)
