Approaches taken to planning and the problems they have encountered. How the theory and practice of IT planning has evolved. The philosophical basis of IT planning, key influences in the development of planning theory, current methods and approaches to planning, a critical evaluation of IT planning practice, and the scope for alternative radical perspectives on planning.
