HFE4031Human performance(SCI) Proposed to be offered next in 2002 Professor Tom Triggs and Dr Jim Phillips 6 points + 3 hours per week + First Semester + OCDL + Students must complete 7.5 hours of laboratory work in a weekend school on-campus + Prerequisites: HFE4022 Synopsis: Using an information processing approach, this unit will detail the factors constraining human performance, systematically outlining limitations to the perceptual, cognitive and motor system. The unit will detail the impact of task variables upon detection, discrimination and decision-making. The nature of skill, and relationships between practice and performance will be discussed. The laboratory component will demonstrate and analyse factors limiting performance. Assessment: Examination (3 hours, short answer): 55% + Laboratory report (2000 words): 20% + Essay (2000 words): 20% + Seminar: 5% |
