GSE3702Engineering software development techniques(ENG)
K R Spriggs 4 points + 26 lecture/tutorial hours, 26 laboratory hours + OCDL: 8*13 hrs private study + Second semester + Gippsland/OCDL + Prerequisite: GSE3701 Synopsis: This unit formalises the engineering software approach as a methodology, and presents more advanced software development topics. Engineering software theory and development issues of: planning, project management, "requirement capturing", design, coding, testing, delivery, maintenance, and the product improvement cycle. Emphasis on development in understanding of the object oriented model and type hierarchy; including the general consideration of the COM object model framework. More advanced programming topics include the development of custom controls and components, and the controlling of other applications through COM servers. Assessment: Oral examination: 20% + Laboratory based assignments: 40% (considered as work requirements) + Laboratory based project: 40% |
