Foundations of interpersonal practice: casework and groupwork

6 points + 4 hours per week + First semester + Gippsland and OCDL + OCDL students are required to attend a weekend school

Synopsis: The unit introduces the importance of an interpersonal focus to welfare practice and the significance of self-awarness for the welfare practitioner. It examines the centrality of knowledge, values and skills in developing and understanding of social casework, family welfare and groupwork.

Assessment: Case work assignment (1000 words): 20% + Group work assignment (2000 words): 40% + Examination (2 hours): 40%
