Topics covered include global seismology and the internal structure of the earth, earthquakes, thermal evolution of the earth, physical properties of lithosphere and mantle; Crustal evolution covers topics in plate tectonics, with emphasis placed on integrating the subdisciplines of tectonics, sedimentology, volcanology, igneous petrology, metamorphic petrology, and economic geology in order to gain an insight into the construction and workings of the tectonic environment as a whole.
