Synopsis: Communication as a human rather than a mechanical activity. Effective communication strategies and processes, oral and written, for different settings and purposes; professional standards of oral and written communication. Theoretical models of communication. Organisational communication. Written communication: report writing, office documents,instructions, notices, technical documentation, electronic documents and communication. Information storage and retrieval. Oral communication: listening skills, meetings, oral presentations, audiovisual communication, interviewing. Critical analysis of argument. Requires Internet access.
