Synopsis: This subject progresses from the previous FNA1601 with a greater emphasis on encouraging individual direction and development. Emphasis on developing an appreciation with traditional and contemporary Australian sculptors through slide lectures, discussions and excursions to galleries and public scultpure sites. Advanced technical skills are developed through set projects which will focus on foundry techniques (lost wax casting), wood fabrication and scaling-up procedures. Aesthetic, conceptual and theoretical issues will also be investigated with each exercise.
