EDF6322Teaching music: policy and practice(EDU)
Dr J Southcott/Dr R Smith & Dr G Hurworth 12 points + First semester + Clayton (OCDL). Synopsis: Module 1: Policy. This module examines the historical development and philosophical bases of school music education in Australia, current trends in Australian arts and music education policy. Module 2: Practice. In this module students will consider the implications for the practice of teaching music of current research in two areas: (1) the teaching of non-Western music; and (2) assessment in music education. Assessment: Module 1: Policy - Web-based tasks 20% + 3,000 word essay 30%. Module 2: Practice - Web-based tasks 20% + 3,000 word essay 30%. |
