EDF5424Professional issues 2 - a focus on the profession(EDU) Proposed to be offered next in 2002 Dr D Corrigan & Ms J Brown (Clay), A/Prof L Cairns (Gippsland) 6 points + 3 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton (on-campus)/Gippsland (OCDL) + corequisites: For Grad.Dip.Ed (Sec) - EDF5422 Synopsis: This unit provides an introduction to the working life of the professional teacher. It is important here to focus on the profession of teaching as this unit will help students to identify what is professional practice particularly in terms of accountability and ethical practices as well as provide them with mechanisms for documenting their professional practice. It is important to prepare new professionals to become active members of their educational community. Assessment: Development of a teaching portfolio (50%) +A presentation (on or off-campus) (20%) + Preparation of a variety of portfolio items using a variety of tools (10%) + Participation in activities (on and off-campus modes) (20%) |
