Peninsula: Ms R Bennett + Gippsland: Dr J O'Connor 6 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Peninsula (on-campus) Synopsis: This unitcomplements concepts presented in Exercise Physiology and Fitness Leadership and core units of the Bachelor of Sport and Outdoor Recreation. The unit increases students' knowledge and understanding of exercise prescription and the consequent risks of sports injuries, their nature and treatment. It expands on students' abilities in analysing sports and exercise safety factors and applying principles of instruction and training specific to the prevention of injuries. Assessment: Practical: 15% + Case study or essay: 25% + Examination or assignment: 60% |
