6 points + 4 hours per week plus four 1-day and one 3-week block and one 2-week block practicum + First semester + Peninsula

Synopsis: Module 1 Theory of developmentally based programs in EC education including program provision, assessment and guidance. The professional responsibilities expected of an EC teacher according to the Australian Early Childhood Code of Ethics.

Assessment: PGO only. Students must gain a satisfactory grade in both modules in order to pass the unit + Module 1: satisfactory grade in Practicum placement and all written requirements including tutorial tasks + Module 2: Satisfactory grade in all written and practical tasks. Hurdle: 80% attendance at lectures/tutorials. + Module 2 Computers in EC education, and further studies in computer application/skills
