ECE4812Bioelectromagnetism(ENG)
I Cosic 4 points + 26 lectures, 26 hours of tutorial and laboratory classes + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: Level three substantially completed + Prohibitions: ECE5812 Synopsis: The subject will cover an introduction to the wide range of bioelectric and biomagnetic phenomena and signals in living systems. The measurements and modelling tools used to record and understand such phenomena will be taught. The basic physiology of living cell and tissue electricity and magnetism will also be taught. The subject will contain the following topics: origin of cell potentials, tissue impedance, measurements of electrical activity of tissue, electric and magnetic stimulation, influence of electromagnetic radiation to living organisms, electromagnetism of biomolecules. Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assignment work: 30% |
