ECE4607Electronic systems and components(ENG)
K C Ng 4 points + 26 lectures, 26 hours of tutorial and laboratory classes + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: ECE3603 or ECS3361 + Prohibitions: ECS4367, ELE4291 Synopsis: Introduction to electronics systems and components. Instrumentation systems: transducers, signal conditioning subsystems; instrumentation, isolation and current mode amplifiers; interference control: grounding and shielding. Data acquisition systems: A/D and D/A converters, V/F and F/V converters; multiplexers, sampling and track-hold amplifiers; data acquisition subsystems. Filters: Butterworth, Chebyshev fileters; active, universal and switched-capacitor filters. Oscillators and timing systems: LC and crystal oscillators; phase-lock loops; universal timer/counters; modulators and demodulators. Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assignment work: 30% |
