Associate Professor Tony Dingle 7 points + Two 1.5-hour sessions per week + First semester + Clayton Synopsis: The growth of economic history as an intellectual discipline and academic subject in Germany, Britain, the United States and Australia since the early nineteenth century. Topics may include Braudel and the Annales school; Fogel and econometric history; Australian economic and social history in the work of N G Butlin, Blainey and Davison. Assessment: Written (3000-word essay): 40% + Class paper: 10% + Examination (2 hours) or second 3000-word essay: 50% |
