3 points + 6 hours per week, including 2 studio hours and 4 hours of independent study + First semester + Caulfield + Prerequisite: admission to either GradDipDes (MMD) or GradCertDes(MMD)

Synopsis: Students are introduced to computers as a tool for artists and designers. While the acquisition of skills, in particular the ability to create, adapt, edit and manipulate digital images is an essential component of this subject, emphasis is also placed on encouraging students' creative and expressive abilities using this medium.

Assessment: Weekly exercises:40% + Projects:50% + Journal: 10%
