Placement and supervision in trauma-based fieldwork

6 points + 6 hours contact per week plus 2 hours supervision per fortnight + MMC Clayton and/or approved OCDL sites

Synopsis: Supervision regarding an overview of current trauma assessment and treatment; An understanding of how culture interacts with clients' responses to the clinician, and the psychiatric culture; Supervision regarding methods that can assess client's contextual histories (such as generational history, and social, political, familial contexts in which traumatic events occur); Supervision regarding ways they can use existing diagnostic criteria (e.g DSM-IV) while assisting a reliable cultural review; a structure will be provided for debriefing casework.

Assessment: Written and visual case material demonstrating understanding + Two case comparative study (equivalent 5,000 words)
