Synopsis: A study of public research networks such as AARNet and Internet. Data sources available through the networks and tools for accessing this information. Text retrieval techniques and their application to the research network information. Management of digital artefacts and their manipulation at local machine level. Stand-alone and networked CD-ROM databases.
