CRH1015Nutrition and health practices(MED)
Dr L Stephens 6 points + OCDL + First semester + Second semester Synopsis: This unit seeks to develop an understanding of the importance of nutrition in the health status of rural communities; encompassing health promotion and primary health care nutrition on both a community and individual level. Section 1, 'Community focused nutrition' explores approaches to help identify and manage those factors that influence nutrition related behaviour. Section 2, 'Clinically focused nutrition' focuses on the prevention and practical management of nutrition related disease that are more prevalent in rural communities, including heart disease, diabetes, malnutrition. This unit is particularly relevant to Medical, Nurse Practitioners and Allied Health Professionals. Assessment: Written Assignments + Journals |
