CRH1000Rural health issues and practice(MED)
Professor R Strasser 6 points + OCDL + First semester Synopsis: This unit includes the cultural, social and psychological aspects of living and working in rural and remote communities. A focus is given to groups with special needs. Morbidity and mortality patterns in rural communities are reviewed, emphasising the differences between city and country populations. Aspects of rural health services such as structure, management and process are examined. Issues relating to continuing education and professional development will also be considered. Assessment: Written assignments + Journals + Teleconference participation |
