Synopsis: Motivation for object-oriented network computing; exception handling, persistence, security, mobility; design patterns and architectures; federations and brokers; Java components and APIs for network computing; Java RMI, Jini, Jiro, JavaSpaces, Enterprise Java Beans, JNDI, Servlets.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 50% + Practical Work: 50%
