Synopsis: This unit continues the overview of the important sentence structures of modern standard Chinese begun in Beginning Chinese, part 1. Equal emphasis is placed on the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Assessment: Written tests: 15% + Verbal skills: 15% + Oral skills: 20% + Regular character dictation tests: 15% + Oral test: 15% + Written examination: 20%
