Mr Lyall Phillips 6 points + 3 hours per week + First or second semester + Caulfield + Prerequisite: BTF1010 or PMM1010 for students undertaking the Bachelor of Psychology and Management/Marketing Synopsis: Legal implications of staff-management decisions. Individual employer-employee relationship; contract of employment; wages-work bargain; recruitment law; termination law including unfair dismissals; mutuality of legal rights and obligations; employer-employee duties of care; health and safety law in the workplace; Occupational Health and Safety Act 1985 (Vic); vicarious liability; industrial action; constitutional considerations and discrimination law. Assessment: Assignment (3500 words): 40% + Examination (3 hours): 60% |
